Annual Leave Rules in Russia
Legal requirements in Russia for holidays and paid annual leave.
In Russia, most employees are entitled to a minimum of 28 calendar days of paid annual leave per year, as stipulated by Article 115 of the Labour Code of the Russian Federation. This entitlement applies to all employees, including those on fixed-term contracts. The leave is calculated based on the employee's work schedule, and it is important to note that employees have the right to take their leave in parts, subject to mutual agreement with their employer. Additionally, employees are entitled to receive their average earnings during their leave period, ensuring that their financial situation remains stable while they take time off work.
It is also important to highlight that certain categories of employees, such as those working in hazardous conditions or in specific industries, may be entitled to additional leave days. Article 116 of the Labour Code provides for the possibility of extended leave for these workers. Furthermore, employees who do not take their annual leave within the designated year may carry it over to the next year, but it must be used within a specified timeframe, typically within 18 months. For more detailed information on paid annual leave in Russia, you can refer to the official Labour Code of the Russian Federation.
